Yassin's Poems

Divine Love

O Love, if not for you
what need do I have for vision?
What is the use of my legs?
Why should my heart still beat?
Why should I write a poem?
What does it mean to be a poet?

O Love, without you
a head is just a ball
containing no thoughts, no ideas,
a heart is an empty bowl
with no beauty, no feeling.
Homes and lands are ruins,
the world is poor,
the earth is a dry desert.

O Love, without you
stars will not shine,
birds will not sing,
buds will not become flowers,
trees will not bloom.
The sun will not rise,
life will have no flavor,
people cannot live together.

O Love, without you
there would be no beauty,
no peace, no security.
Without you
there will be no hope, no future,
we would reach nothing from living.
Without you,
I would not know
why our earth keeps circling.
